Shoojit Sircar, Rafael Kapelinski, Barah by Barah win at Diorama International Film Festival 2021

Shoojit Sircar wins the Golden Sparrow Award for Best Direction for his film ‘Sardar Udham’ while Barah by Barah directed by Gaurav Madan wins the Golden Sparrow for the Best Indian Feature Film. The Golden Sparrow for the Best International Feature Film goes to ‘A Woman at Night’ directed by Rafael Kapelinski, while the Golden Sparrow for the Best Documentary Film has been presented to ‘Night Nursery (Burkina Faso) directed by Moumouni Sanou. In the International Short Film Category, the Golden Sparrow has been presented to the South Korean Film ‘Ambience’ directed by Kang Shingyu. The Festival’s Critics Choice Award decided by the Film Critics Circle of India also goes to the Hindi Feature Film, ’Barah by Barah'.


Joju George from Kerala wins the Golden Sparrow for the Best Actor for his stellar performance in the Malayalam Film ‘Nayattu’ while Rima Kallingal also from Kerala wins the Golden Sparrow for the Best Actress for her performance in the Single take film ‘Joyful Mystery (Santhoshathinte Onnam Rahasyam - Malayalam). The Silver Sparrow for the second-Best Indian feature Film has gone to the Malayalam Feature Film “Nayattu” win the Audience Choice Award at the just concluded 3rd Diorama International Film Festival.


The Golden Sparrow for the Best Cinematography is presented to Avik Mukhopadhyaya for the Hindi language feature film ‘Sardar Udham’, the award for Best Editing has gone to Hirads for ‘Barah by Barah’ while Anindit Roy & Adeep Singh Manki win the Golden Sparrow for the film ‘Tangra Blues’ (Bengali) directed by Supriyo Sen.


The Jury for Indian Feature Films headed by the renowned Film Director, Girish Kasravalli has presented the Special jury Award to Kishore Kadam for his brilliant performance in Gajendra Ahire directed Marathi film ’Godakath’. The award for Best Screenplay has been presented to Rajdeep Paul and Sarmishtha Maiti for their Bengali film ‘Kalkokkho’.


At Diorama film Bazaar’s Pitchfest, the Award for the Most Viable Film Project goes to the film project ‘Nithallu’ submitted by Film Maker Vivek Kunwar. Talking about Diorama Film Bazaar, Kunal Srivastava, Director, said, “This year the Pitchfest selected 15 film projects and pitched these to 30 Film Producers all over the world. The Pitchfest’s International Mentors prepared these filmmakers in the art of Film Pitching.”


The week-long Festival screened over 130 films and presented 60 Workshops, Coffee Table Sessions, Interviews, and Panel Discussions with some of the big names from film industries of the world.
